WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Christopher Kay, Anavasi is an inspiring and cinematic documentary film exploring life's often unanswerable questions through stories of overcoming trauma, deprogramming, realigning ourselves with our greatest potential and ultimately, finding our soul purpose.
In times of growing separation, more people are being drawn inward, questioning the systems, patterns and inherited beliefs that shape how we live. With that questioning comes a deeper exploration of the self, the soul and higher states of consciousness, as we begin to reconnect with what is essential in ourselves and, in turn, with one another. Through this process of reflection and remembrance, a more conscious and collective way of being begins to emerge.
It's time to break the cycle, stand up and ask some pertinent questions, and this unique documentary experience acts as an exploratory guide, putting a spotlight on the questions;
'Who are we?'
'What are we experiencing?'
'Where do we go from here?'

THE CONTENT
Anavasi weaves a beautiful and unique blend of styles and genres.
Part documentary and part narrative, a series of stories serve as the backbone of the entire film. The themes of these set pieces are then elaborated on by renowned interviewees in their respective fields through their own unique experiences.
This diverse array of interviewees includes scientists, authors, celebrities, trauma counsellors, educators, intuitives, shamans and indigenous leaders and elders.
This rich tapestry of perspectives offers a comprehensive exploration of the subject matter, bringing together voices across various disciplines and traditions to provide a multifaceted understanding of the human condition and the soul.
It is not a documentary to provide concrete answers or push any agenda... it is to expand the mind and consciousness, to help reconnect the audience with their higher self, and to remind them of a more beautiful existence.

CHRISTOPHER KAY
DIRECTOR / PRODUCER / CREATOR OF 'ANAVASI'

From a young age, I wanted to tell stories.
It began with short stories in school and evolved into a lifelong commitment to understanding how narrative can shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. After studying film and developing across writing, directing, producing and editing, I went on to create television and films screened in Australia and internationally.
As that work evolved via multiple genres, so too did my relationship with storytelling. What became increasingly important was not simply telling compelling stories, but telling them with greater care, depth and responsibility. Stories have the power to shape perception, challenge inherited ideas and create meaningful connection, and with that comes a responsibility to explore what is true, human and enduring.
My work is now grounded in a desire to tell stories that ask deeper questions, expand perspective and explore the inner landscapes that shape how we live. Through themes of trauma, transformation, consciousness and human potential, I am interested in creating films that do more than entertain. They are intended to invite reflection, encourage self-inquiry and move us closer to a more conscious understanding of ourselves and one another.
Anavasi continues that pursuit. It is a cinematic exploration of resilience, consciousness and the search for meaning, examining how we move through suffering, reconnect with self and step more fully into who we are capable of becoming.
